“She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.” (Proverbs 3: 15)
For past few years, I have come to understand something very valuable. It comes from 2 Corinthians 4:9 “persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” You see, there have been many times in my life when I clung to that verse above all else. I’m thankful for those words because it helped equip me to learn how to simply walk obediently in the ways of the Lord. I have tasted first hand that our Lord, and Savior is a comforter, protector, provider, and giver of strength to keep moving forward despite the hard times.
I grew up in a typical family that regularly attended church on Sunday. Although we never prayed together nor talked much about Christ in our home, I always knew who Jesus was. I came to accept Him as my Lord and Savior at the age of 13 while attending a church camp. I ended up rededicating my life at the age of 19 with a heart of passion and zeal for our Lord. Although it was many years until I fully appreciated the gift of grace and mercy on my life, I now live completely sold out in reverence of the Christian faith.
As an adult I have survived a marriage separation (fully restored), abandonment by a parent, and verbal persecution for my obedience in Christ. Although painful, I believe that it is these kind of trials that have caused me to grow deeper in my faith and mature in a serious relationship with my Creator. Never would I have fully understood how powerful He can be if I didn’t let Him in nor would I have known the depth of His love if I had not endured such pain and hardship early on. I will not lie and say that life is easy and all is what I dream of, but I do have something that I didn’t before. That is hope. I have hope in who Christ is and the promises He has promised for all who believe. That is enough for me.
I write this blog out to share my story… I have seen the Lord provide through nothing but a prayer; I have watched Him move mountains to fulfill His word in my life; I have trusted my everything on what His Bible says and have watched miracle happen. My gift is encouragement – and my goal is to encourage you to walk freely in Him. Know who your God is.. and begin trusting Him with your life. He is real and He does love you and desire to take care of your every need (read John 3: 16 – 18)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
